Dear U.S. Grains Council Customers:

The Council is pleased to announce the appointment of Bryan Lohmar as USGC China director. Lohmar comes with a wealth of industry knowledge and experience having most recently served as the director of economic research for Bunge China in Shanghai. Prior to that, he was an economist for USDA’s Economic Research Service, focused on a wide range of agricultural production and trade topics, nearly all pertaining to China.

Lohmar is graduate of the University of California, Davis, holding a Ph.D. in agricultural economics. He has authored numerous papers on China’s commodity supply and demand trends, natural resource challenges, and future needs.  He has worked with some of the most prominent scholars in the field including Professor Scott Rozelle, at Stanford University, and Professor Jikun Huang at the Center for Chinese Agricultural Policy, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and others.

Lohmar will begin working for the Council in late April.  We are looking forward to Bryan’s tenure with the Council and are grateful to acting director Sam Niu for all of his additional work over the past year.

美国谷物协会的客户们,大家好!

我们很荣幸地宣布楼瑞恩博士(Bryan Lohmar)将出任美国谷物协会北京办事处主任。楼博士有很丰富的业内知识和经验,最近一直担任邦吉中国上海公司经济研究主任,之前曾担任美国农业部经济研究局经济专家,专注于农产品和贸易方面的广泛题目,几乎都与中国有关。

楼博士毕业于美国加州大学戴维斯分校,获得农业经济学博士,曾撰写过大量关于中国商品供求趋势、中国自然资源的挑战和未来需求等方面的论文。 他曾和几位业内杰出的学者工作过,包括美国斯坦福大学教授Scott Rozelle,和中国科学院农业政策研究中心的黄季琨教授。

楼博士将于四月下旬开始在协会工作。我们期待着楼博士的上任,并感谢执行主任牛一山先生在过去一年中所做的额外工作。
